Independent Publishing through a Press with the Power of Brute
Brute Press
We are involved in PRODUCTION, the space and time of which is certainly having some brutal times. Those who involve themselves in the enjoyment of making things are feeling pressure from the quarters of those who cannot spare energies, materiel, and monies for such futile pursuits as production. The world, unfortunately, is not beset by brutes, but is merely having trouble understanding them.
We produce such brutes as:
Fiction
Essays
Poems
Art
Design
Technology
Commentary
Language
Theory
Books
Food
Pamphlets
Decoration
Music
Noise
Stuff that is none of that
The only guiding principle of the things that you will find tied together under the name, "BRUTE PRESS", is that they are new, to be made and shared, and perhaps a bit hungry and confused.
Things like that need a home... but they also need more than that. They need protectors, guides, feeders, keepers, groomers and spectators. These things are perhaps the only noble brutes left, and they desire productive sanctuary. Sanctuary is what we are only too happy and able to provide.
